The Brothers MICM
The Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Mancipia Immaculati Cordis Mariae –MICM) of Saint Benedict Center is a traditional, active Order founded by Fr. Leonard Feeney and re-founded by Brother Hugh MacIsaac in 1976 in Harvard, Massachusetts.
The community lives the spirit of True Devotion to Mary as described in the treatise by Saint Louis de Montfort. Consecrating themselves to Jesus through Mary, they give her everything even the merits of all their actions without exception.
Our monastery, named after Saint Benedict, reflects our life of work and prayer. We are a Public Association of the Faithful in the Diocese of Worcester, Massachusetts.
Our Founder
Brother Hugh MacIsaac, MICM
Brother Hugh MacIsaac’s example was the motivating force that set our apostolates in motion and is the spirit that still drives them today. The monastery has grown from its original three acres to 100+ acres with 15 buildings on the campus.
Please read the complete history of our community in the History section of our Monastery website.

Religious Brothers:
Saint Joseph in our midst
The religious Brother exemplifies Saint Joseph, often receiving less recognition than priests, who are acknowledged for their sacramental roles. Many questioning candidates ask, “Why not be a priest?”
However, like Saint Joseph, the Brother’s faithful service is crucial, even if it seems less glamorous. In the Carthusian Order, for example, the Brother’s work is acknowledged as a necessary support of the priest in his duties.
We should hold the vocation of the religious Brotherhood in high esteem as it reflects Saint Joseph in our midst. The young man called to the Brother Slaves can look to Saint Joseph as a model, providing care and shelter for the Holy Family while doing work that is both earthly and eternal.
The work of the Brothers MICM is likewise consecrated.
