Ora et labora
Working for God
“How easily we could win Heaven day by day just by doing what we have to do – but by doing it for God!”
–Saint John Vianney

Consecrating Our Work
The Brothers MICM, Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, earnestly take to heart Saint Benedict’s motto of “Ora et Labora” for finding that balance and union of Prayer and Work. A Brother’s prayer life is his principal work, while at the same time, his daily work is transformed into a living prayer. The spiritual formation of a Brother is the driving force behind his work in the apostolate, which is all done in the spirit of Saint Louis Marie de Montfort – “To Jesus, through Mary.”
There are many facets of the work-life at the monastery, with the main one being working with the youth. The Brothers teach at the school, run summer camps, take care of much of the construction and upkeep of the monastery, and perform various other tasks to maintain the apostolate of Saint Benedict Center. Find out more information about each of our apostolates and works below.

Work for God
Saint Joseph the Worker, pray for us!
Remember, O most pure spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, my great protector, Saint Joseph, that no one ever had recourse to your protection, or implored your aid without obtaining relief. Confiding therefore in your goodness, I come before you. Do not turn down my petitions, foster father of the Redeemer, but graciously receive them. Amen.
