Keeping the grounds a

Spiritual Oasis

Our monastery is an educational center and a spiritual oasis for the religious community and visitors. The grounds feature numerous shrines, and we strive to maintain their beauty to honor God and create a sense of peace. These serene settings help us draw closer to God. In addition to our construction projects, the Brothers actively care for the monastery’s lawns and shrines, ensuring they remain pristine, especially during the vibrant New England spring.

Responsibilities include mowing the grass, trimming hedges, splitting logs, raking, mulching, and performing stone and patio work.

As Advent approaches, a life-size Nativity scene is assembled and arranged on the front lawn of the chapel. Before Christmas, the chapel and grounds are decorated with greens and garlands. During the harsh New England winters, the Brothers also spend time shoveling and plowing snow to keep the grounds accessible and well-maintained.
